Area Rugs

 Our downstairs space is something I've been itching to re-do. The decor is still lovable but I just want to change a few things up. One being the area rug. The current one is fun and colorful, reminding me of one of my favorite artists. We have his "Mother and Child" print in Ezra's room. My parents gave us our current rug when they moved into their remodeled home & we were thrilled. It's surviving the high traffic area but I'm not sure for how much longer. I've always really liked it, but I'm ready for something new. Here are a few I've been eyeing...

My favorite store, Anthro, was carrying it awhile back, but I found it online for a cheaper price while looking for rugs!

My Dream House

 It's for sale. And man, how I wish we had $1.9 million to burn invest. I see it almost everyday and I still can't get enough of the wrap around porch and beautiful garden out front. I just drool over the Victorian style! W & I have been in the back for a garage sale once and the place is beau.it.ful. The backyard is huge, peaceful & gorgeous. I mean, I could really use a refurbished barn and guest house! You better believe that I'm already stalking it so I can go to the open house and check out the inside. {Deep, longing sigh}

A Few of My Favorite Things

Nesting: the need to make the house a home. :) I read a recent article about how decorating a home should be a long process-- one that takes time, patience & do-diligence. If not, then it will just be a department store moved in--pure commercial without that personal touch. It was such a good reminder to me that I shouldn't be in a rush to have everything right now. Plus the hunt is half the fun & when I find that great addition for a great price, it's fabulous! I love our home & what we've done so far. I especially love much of my grandmother's contributions. I inherited great pieces. When we had her over back in the spring once we pieced our home together, she was so elated to see her things being used & how different we worked with them than when they were hers.
