Our next stop to visit was the lighthouse.
Way out, hovering on top of the cliffs.
It was super gusty when we made the .5 mile trek to the top of the stairs. Then hiked down 300+ steps.
We got to tour the lighthouse, but the biggest highlight for me was getting to see two gray whales swimming near below the cliffs. It was really cool!
Ezra was such a trooper! He did the mile loop to the lighthouse and did all the stairs on the way back up.
Then we headed to our hotel, splashed in the pool and had dinner. We were hoping to do more the next day, but Theo came down with a fever during the night. It's a great thing we opted for the king bed since 4/5th of us ended up in it together. The next morning after breakfast, we were back on the road toward home. Minus Theo getting sick, our mini/trial-run trip went surprisingly smooth and we had a great time. All part of the adventure, I suppose. ;)
