Birthdays # 27 & 29

W's & my birthdays are exactly a week apart. It makes for shared celebrations which I love. This year since our birthdays were both on a Saturday, so we celebrated on a Wednesday. I found out that this museum that we've been dying to go to was free on every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Perfect! First, we stopped at the Donut Shop that my Dad use to take me to every Friday morning during elementary school.

Yup, I definitely got the exact same thing except I substituted coffee for the usually chocolate milk. Oh, and the donut inspiration came from this hilarious commercial that W showed me a few days ago...product commercials really do work, even spoof ones. Then we hit the road with our packed lunches, Ezra, and blankets. Off to the city!
Waiting in line to enter

We saw some cool things...

But by far our favorite was...
The albino alligator in the swamp area.

After we saw most of the exhibits, we headed outside for lunch. It was misty rainy so we found a grove of trees right by the museum. The ground was pretty much protected against the rain so we plopped our blanket down and bundled up.
As we finished lunch, the rain was coming down harder. We packed up & headed home for some good napping time. In the evening, we went over to my parents for a birthday dinner. And opened our gift!

Happy Birthday, Hunky Hubby!

Dear William,

Happy Birthday, BabyCakes! From the day I met you, my life has changed for the best! You are an amazing husband, phenomenal father, caring brother, affectionate son, loyal friend, and "THE perfect son-in-law". I am thankful that you pursued me whole-heartedly from day one.  I love how you knew I was the one after our first meeting and you would marry me if I would have you. I love that you called my dad to ask his permission to date me. I love how you are such a gentleman of the lost masculine arts {Thank you, Ruth!}! And a hot cowboy, to boot! :)
 I have never worried about your commitment and dedication to me. Two weeks after I moved, you chased after me to the bay area, even after you had sworn years before that you could never live up here! You didn't have a job, a place to live but you said you would make it work; I was worth it. And so you did and have to this day!
I am so proud of you! You have worked so hard: balancing marriage, parenthood, work, and school. Thank you for your persistence to finish school so that you can bring home the big bacon that I can cook, at home, for our future quiver-full! ;)
 I am in more love with you than the day I married you! It's so delightfully wonderful how time can do that: deepen and strengthen love. Thank you for showing me how to be more patient, more understanding, and more sacrificial towards others. Thank you for not always telling me how many times you stop along the highway on your way home to help someone out, especially at night.
Thank you for your graciousness, protectiveness, wisdom & clarity into my sometimes confusing heart, and helping to refine my areas of weakness & sin. Thank you for being the calming & comforting voice when I'm upset, confused, exhausted, or stressed. Thank you for persistently encouraging us to read together at night, go for family walks, and get chores done when I'm lazy! And thank you for being passionate yet grounded in reason and knowledge. Oh, and for happily eating all my culinary disasters even though I'm sure you are cringing inside, Mr. Culinary Arts Graduate. {Please teach me how to make a croissant one of these days!}

Here's to your 29th Birthday, my bearded beau!! May the Lord grant us millions more together.
Love you long time.

P.S. Freakin' Pancho, Man!

My Dream House

 It's for sale. And man, how I wish we had $1.9 million to burn invest. I see it almost everyday and I still can't get enough of the wrap around porch and beautiful garden out front. I just drool over the Victorian style! W & I have been in the back for a garage sale once and the place is beau.it.ful. The backyard is huge, peaceful & gorgeous. I mean, I could really use a refurbished barn and guest house! You better believe that I'm already stalking it so I can go to the open house and check out the inside. {Deep, longing sigh}

Waiting.

Packages. I love getting them. Thanks to a new tutor family, I could make a few new purchases I've been waiting to get. Since Ezra is plumping up nicely, I'm currently waiting for...
Making his already-adorable tush cute in the next size up cloth diaper covers. And because I'm hoping this gorgeous weather will stay...

Our Weekend In Pictures

Friday
Sushi dinner downtown. So fun when you run into lots of people you know.

Stopped on the walk home for a quick hello & playdate with the Moogs

Saturday
Support Lulu by donating & walking in the Arthritis Walk

This is what happens when Mama goes to the bathroom before heading to the Livermore Wine Festival

Auntie Meggs loving on Ezra during brunch before walking into the festival

After beating the heat in downtown Livermore, we headed home to cool off in the pool. Ezra's first time! He was mesmerized by the surface!

Splashing; what he does best!

Family of three!

No pictures of Sunday. We did absolutely nothing! It was fabulous! Hope you had a wonderful weekend in this great spring weather too!!
